What types of conditions do you treat?

Our practice concentrates primarily on women’s health and wellness. We treat the following types of conditions: infertility, PMS, menstrual pain, uterine fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and endometriosis. We are known throughout the Bay Area for our special expertise in enhancing fertility, and often work collaboratively with Western medical doctors to achieve maximum success rates. We treat both men and women for endocrine disorders, weight loss, obesity, allergies, and musculoskeletal pain. We also offer stress reduction, nutrition, and lifestyle counseling. Once the chief complaint has been effectively resolved, we work with patients on an ongoing basis to support long-term health and well being.

What treatment modalities do you use?

In our practice we offer acupuncture and nutrition, including vitamins, healthy eating, and herbal medicine. We utilize a wide variety of laboratory diagnostics to thoroughly assess patients. A few special systems that we use include First Line Therapy, designed to support and educate patients adopting a healthy lifestyle, and the Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), which can be used to address the underlying emotional components of health and well-being.

What style of acupuncture do you do?

Leslie practices a combination of Japanese and Chinese acupuncture.

How long has Leslie been in practice?

Leslie has been in practice for twelve years, and has helped hundreds of people to resolve health conditions and enhance their fertility.

What is her success rate?

Statistics about success rates only have meaning as they relate to your specific condition. Once you speak to Leslie during your initial consultation, she will provide information about the expected success rates for your condition.

What is Leslie's experience in treating fertility?

Over her twelve years in practice, Leslie has proven herself as one of the leading acupuncture fertility specialists in the Bay Area. Expert at working with patients at all stages in their fertility journey, Leslie has a thorough knowledge of how to best combine traditional eastern and modern western medicine, including both diagnostics and treatment. Leslie’s comprehensive approach includes a deep understanding of the emotional aspects of infertility.

Will I have to take herbs?

Herbs may enhance the effect of other treatments and many patients find them helpful, but you are not required to take them. We do have a full granulated pharmacy on site. If you have questions or concerns about taking herbs, please let us know when you come in for your initial consultation.

When should I begin treatment?

You can begin treatment whenever you decide to try a more integrated approach to your health. Please note: if you have a medical procedure related to your condition scheduled in the near future, please tell us up front so we can schedule your first visit accordingly.

How often do I need to come in?

Each person’s situation is unique, so the frequency of your visits will depend on your individual needs and goals for care. When you come in for your initial consultation and exam, we will make recommendations for your care.

I work during the day. Can I get an appointment in the evening?

Many patients have this concern. With enough lead time, we do have both morning and evening appointments available for ongoing visits, and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. We schedule new patients for their initial appointment at either 11:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. to ensure adequate time for a complete evaluation. Please call us at 510-595-1175 to schedule an appointment.

Christa, Ella's Mom

Before I began fertility treatments, I was informed that I had a lower than average egg count for a 35-year-old and that conceiving could be difficult.  Seeing Leslie grew out of a desire to do everything in my power that might help me to conceive, including acupuncture, herbal supplements, and a focus on eating for fertility.  From our first meeting, it was clear that Leslie was comfortable with lesbian patients and was knowledgeable about the possibilities that we may encounter (IUI with and without medication, IVF). Leslie’s down-to-earth, warm manner, coupled with her ability to stay positive and to explain the ins and outs of fertility treatments helped me to continue the emotionally taxing journey through 12 IUIs.  I am grateful for Leslie’s can-do attitude and for her unwavering help and support during our journey.
